Why Scooter Fireproof Bags by ICe® exists
Lithium battery fires in domestic settings have multiplied in recent years with the mass arrival of the electric scooter and the electric bike. Fire services in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, France and Spain have been warning about the same pattern for some time: most of these fires happen during charging, at night, with the device unattended, and the fire spreads through the home before residents can react.
The logical answer is not to charge indoors. The practical answer, for millions of people living in flats with no garage or shed, is to contain the risk where the device is charged. That is exactly what a fireproof bag does: it delays the fire, holds back most of the heat, reduces the spread of the fire and buys the critical minutes needed to evacuate and call the emergency services.

How an Scooter Fireproof Bags by ICe® is made
Every model in our range is made from technical fabrics with high thermal resistance, in multiple layers designed specifically to withstand lithium fires, which burn at far higher temperatures than a conventional fire and release toxic gases. It is not a reinforced carry bag. It is an active safety product, tested for the specific scenario of a battery fire.
The Scooter Fireproof Bags by ICe® has been tested in an independent laboratory against a real thermal runaway, with a complete scooter inside the closed bag: ATS Electronic Technology, report ATSR240420811, models S1 to S5. The three-layer composite is classified UL 94 V-0 and the outer fabric UL 94 VTM-0 according to SGS reports; SGS has also analysed the materials against REACH, RoHS and California Proposition 65. Five models, five situations
The Scooter Fireproof Bags by ICe® range covers the five real use situations we have identified while working with users over the years:
- S1 and S2, for charging and storage: the fully folded scooter fits inside the bag. Check your scooter’s dimensions before choosing a model.
- S3 and S4, for transporting an unfolded scooter in a car boot, with the handlebar outside the bag. Check the dimensions and instructions for each model.
- S5, the garage solution for charging and storage: slide the folded scooter in through the side without lifting it, then close the bag with the fireproof zip and hook-and-loop fasteners.
