About ICe BAG

About ICe BAG

ICe BAG is a certified fireproof containment bag designed for one specific situation: the rare but real moment when the lithium battery of an electric scooter, an e-bike or a similar device enters thermal runaway and starts burning inside your home. If that moment comes, the difference between having a certified bag and not having one is the difference between a scare and a house fire.

That's the product. That's the problem. This is the page that explains who we are and how we work.

Why ICe BAG exists

Lithium battery fires in homes have multiplied in the last few years with the mass arrival of electric scooters and e-bikes. Fire services in the UK, United States, Germany, France and Spain have been flagging the same pattern for a while now: most of these fires happen during charging, overnight, with the device unattended, and the fire spreads through the home before residents can react.

The logical answer is to not charge indoors. The practical answer, for millions of people who live in flats without a garage or shed, is to contain the risk exactly where the device is charged. That's precisely what a fireproof bag does: it slows the fire, contains most of the heat, reduces spread and buys the critical minutes needed to evacuate and call emergency services.

ICe BAG was built for that scenario. It does not replace a smoke alarm, a fire extinguisher or an evacuation plan — it complements them. It's the last layer of defence between a failing battery and the rest of your home.

How an ICe BAG is built

Every model in our range is made with high-performance thermal-resistant technical fabrics, with multiple layers designed specifically for lithium fires — which burn at far higher temperatures than conventional fires and release toxic gases. This is not a reinforced transport cover. It's an active safety product, tested for the specific case of a battery fire.

Every ICe BAG is CE certified. That means it meets European safety requirements and that the technical file, testing records and manufacturing traceability are on record and auditable. CE certification is not a marketing sticker: it's a legal, verifiable commitment.

Five models, five situations

The ICe BAG range covers the five real use cases we have identified working with users over the years:

  • S1 and S2 — the all-rounder: the scooter fits whole, without folding. Ideal for charging and storage at home.
  • S3 and S4 — designed for daily public transport use: lighter, require folding the scooter.
  • S5 — the garage solution: open structure, designed to store the scooter without opening and closing the bag every time.
  • ICe fireproof blanket — emergency protection for any device, not just scooters: laptops, power banks, e-bike batteries.

Each model has its own article on the blog with the situations where it makes sense. If you're not sure which one is for you, the comparison guide helps you decide in under two minutes.

International coverage

We ship ICe BAG to more than 40 countries with free shipping from our European hubs. We work in four languages — Spanish, English, French and German — with direct support in each of them. The risk of battery fires is the same in Madrid as it is in Berlin, London or Paris: that's why our product has no borders.

We comply with each market's import and safety regulations where we operate, including CE marking for the European Union, and we adapt the recommendations in our articles to the local regulation of each country.

Our editorial approach

The content we publish on this site — product guides, battery fire articles, comparison pieces — is written by the ICe team under a strict rule: only verified information, aligned with what official fire services recommend in the countries we ship to. We don't overplay the risk to sell and we don't play down the limits of the product. A fireproof bag reduces damage; it doesn't turn a dangerous battery into a safe one.

When we cite data from official bodies (London Fire Brigade, FDNY, Bombers de Barcelona, Feuerwehr, Pompiers de Paris, IATA, insurers or manufacturers), we do so with identifiable sources. When we give practical advice, it's advice we follow ourselves.

Contact and support

If you have a question before or after buying, or if you've faced a specific situation with a battery and want to ask us about it, reach out through the contact page. We reply in your language.

For technical enquiries about certification, CE documentation or any information related to product safety, we're also available — transparency is part of the product.
